Sarah Leyland
Osteoporosis Specialist Nurse Clinical Adviser, Royal Osteoporosis Society
Sarah Leyland is an Osteoporosis Specialist Nurse currently working as a clinical adviser with the Royal Osteoporosis Society. With a background in rheumatology and gynecology, Sarah has worked for over 20 years at the charity. In the past, she developed and managed the specialist nurse led helpline and information service and she continues to train and supervise staff and advise on osteoporosis and bone health information. Sarah has worked on a number of specific projects at the Royal Osteoporosis Society in recent years. This has included the development of an Expert Consensus Statement on the role of Physical Activity and Exercise for Osteoporosis and a range of information resources for the public. Sarah has been closely involved in a new series of ROS online films #Bone Matters examining key questions and issues and talking to experts in the field.
