Attendees will hear about the expanded knowledge and skills required for midwifery care in the 21st century as required in the updated NMC's Standards for midwives.  The key theme of public health, health promotion, and health protection underlines the importance of midwifery education and care and the impact of pregnancy, labour and birth, postpartum, infant feeding, and the early weeks of life on longer-term health and well-being.
