This session will give an update on lipid lowering management for primary and secondary prevention of CVD.    Learning Outcomes 1) Describe the pathways for lipid management for prevention and treatment of CVD   2)  Discuss the rationale for pharmacological intervention using statin-based treatment as first line  3) Consider alternative strategies if statins do not achieve targets and/or are not tolerated
