The National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) is a member-led, long-standing and respected professional body for counsellors and psychotherapists in the UK, committed to maintaining high standards in training and practice, as well as supporting and advocating for both the counselling profession and the mental health of the nation.
Our ethos is that counselling and psychotherapy is a unique vocation and that this should be reflected in all that we do.
As an Accredited Register holder, we meet the robust and exacting standards set by the Professional Standards Authority, with particular emphasis on public safety and assuring that the best interests of the clients are protected.
Counsellors and psychotherapists on the NCPS Accredited Register have also met our rigorous assessment criteria, demonstrating both skill and commitment to their vocation. Upholding the NCPS Code of Ethics, each Registrant member is dedicated to providing professional and ethical care in their practice.
