My Thank You was originally developed during the pandemic to channel hundreds of thousands of messages from the public to hard-pressed NHS employees. 

It encourages patients to send thank-yous to staff who have helped them – and in doing so creates a more positive, engaged and happy working environment. 

The system is already in use across twelve hospitals including Addenbrookes,  Guy’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Milton Keynes. And having been piloted by Bridge View Medical Group in Bristol, it is now launching for GP surgeries. 

Patients scan a QR code or follow a link in email communications. This takes them to a mobile-optimised website where they leave their thank-you.

Messages are then processed via an online dashboard – which allows practice managers to check on what’s being said before forwarding them to the relevant teams or individuals. 

Unlike the Friends and Family test – which surgeries are required to use to gather patient feedback – My Thank You is focused entirely on gratitude and positive messages. 

James Ingham, Executive Director at Bridge View Medical, explained the benefits.

Having been built for hospital settings, the system is completely secure and has passed a range of stringent procurement processes. Yet it’s extremely easy to set up and use, which means practices can be up and running in a matter of hours.
