Background
Our scientific understanding of foot and ankle dysfunction and biomechanics has evolved significantly over the last 30 years.
In the 1970s, it was a common belief that foot orthoses exerted a therapeutic benefit by changing the alignment (kinematics) of feet. Through research, we now know this is not true. Alignment and pain are not correlated, and insoles do not consistently or predictably change alignment.
Research now tells us that foot orthoses exert a clinical benefit mechanically by changing how forces (Kinetics) pass through our feet.
KinetiXTM operates on the principle of utilising five unique designs, each with its distinct shape, to alter how forces are distributed across the plantar surface of the foot. These design variations play a crucial role in modifying the speed at which joints move and, consequently, the stresses exerted on soft tissues and joints within the foot and lower limb.
Each KinetiXTM model shape treats the most commonly occurring foot conditions.
